The Anschluss

The National Socialist ideology considers that Germany and Austria aren't but one nation, and their citizens aren't but one people, that was divided, due to historical events, and their seperation does nothing but weaken every part of the divided nation. Hence, National Socialist movements oughted to reunite these parts under one rule, thus forming a strong nation.
In 1933, the Nazis seized power in Deutschland (Germany). From that time on, Adolf Hitler, Nazi leader and German president, dedicated his time and power to realize his dream of uniting German-speaking peoples into an empire he called the Third Reich.
On March 13, 1938, the dream became a fact as German troops and police flooded into Austria without any resistance. Hitler entered Vienna, Austria’s capital, on March 14 and proclaimed the Anschluss (union).
