Mortar team

German mortar teams were mostly units of two soldiers of the Wehrmacht armed with a mortar. The mortar is cannon that fires shells in a high, arcing trajectory which allows the shells to travel over obstacles to hit a target. Furthermore, mortars are easily transported and simple to operate what makes them excellent weapons for providing artillery support in difflicult terrains. Mortar teams were extremely used by the Wehrmacht in WWII particularly in conflicts that took place in towns and mountains, what provided a big advantage against the opposite side.
